Budgets

Ain't it a shame.  The fed or state doesn't balance it's budget, but all the little folks below them have to.  In the paper today they say the schools are facing a 5 million dollar shortage because the state can't balance it's budget.  Shouldn't it be the other way around?  The little people balance their budgets and the state has to follow through with it's budget balancing.  The state is the only one that can make money by taxing the little folks, so when they want to balance their budget, they take it from the little people by increasing taxes...sneakily might I add...by increasing taxes on liquor, cigarettes, gasoline, or motel/hotel chains in the form of a 'stay-at-my-place' tax.  There are other sneaky taxes the state uses, but it would take too long to list them.  Needless to say, these taxes are 'hidden' and you don't see them...you feel them in your pocket, but you don't feel 'em.

How about taxing the rich dudes living in our fair state?  How about using their funds to balance the state budget instead of having the whole burden fall on the poor and middle class?  The day you see that happen in a RED state will be the day...well, you just won't see that happen.  The Reps are scared of the rich.  They are afraid that if they ask them to pay their fair share of the burden, they'll get mad and won't give the Reps any of their money to get reelected.

I ask you, why do we elect these numb-sculls to keep them in office forever?  And really, who do we elect?  The Rich!  I guess we deserve who and what we get.  Do you in your wildest imagination think the Rich will pass legislation that will take money out of their pockets?  Now who's the numb-scull?  I guess us.  Pogo's right: we has met the enemy and he is us.
